Who Are We?

Who are the people behind Bosky Acres? And what do we do?

Bosky Acres is a family run operation, from top to bottom. We've always worked this way. We are:

Michele

El Presidente. She runs the operation around here, and stays very busy milking and caring for her herd of goats, making soap, planning the cheese business, spending weekends at the farmer's market, and all on top of homeschooling her three children.

Matt

He is the Mr. Spock to Michele's Captain Kirk. Business partner, treasurer, and un-official tech guy, he is the valued support to all our endeavors here at the farm. He and Michele have been married for almost twenty years. In his other job, He designs tire treads. He also makes the meanest pepperoni pizza ever known to man.

Ivy

The oldest of the three children. Ivy has been homeschooled since the second grade. She is now all the way in twelvth grade, and looking at college, and a possible journalism major. She loves spending time at the farmer's market selling soap (and soon cheese), and has been dubbed as "number-one sales person." In between all that, she reads a lot, and she still isn’t too old to watch cartoons with her younger brother.

Evan

He is a musician and serious computer guy, proving that technology and creativity do go together. He has been playing the drums for three years, and now plays percussion in a homeschool orchestra. He also designs video games, and has extensive knowledge of all things related to them. He is also something of the family comedian, and his often witty remarks always make everyone laugh.

Aaron

He is the youngest, and loves animals in any shape or form. He is the top farm-hand around here, and loves to help his mom with the goats. He loves meeting new people and makes friends wherever he goes. He also loves baking cookies, and wants to become a pastry chef someday.

Hello ... I'm a fellow goatlover in the Oakboro area. Glad you've opened your cheese room. We're just beginning the thinking/planning process. I wanted to wait until the Christmas season was finished before dismanteling our soap factory. Because that's where the cheese room will be going.

We have spoken, haven't we? Tom Flowe built our fence mentioned that he had met a cheesemaker recently. I'm thinking it's you.

I enjoyed your blog. Good looking goat masthead.

Maybe you could help a neighbor. A lady called this morning looking for raw goat milk. We don't have any milk at this time. Do you?
If you do and could helpp this lady, please call Bobby Hodges at 704-986-4558. I've also given her Jeff Mahaffee's number. Apparently she NEEDS raw goat milk for a medical condition. She lives in Albemarle but would probably be willing to travel to get the milk.

Please let me know if you're the lady I've echattted with before.

May smooth udders grace your fields,
